Stutter Creek #8Sunday Snippet

Welcome back to Weekend Writing Warriors #8Sunday Snippet

I can't believe we are already up to Chapter Two of Stutter Creek, my upcoming Romantic Thriller.  Okay, maybe I skipped a line or two, but here's the gist of what I've posted so far:  A young woman named Mandy was on her way to work when she saw a small boy beside the highway. When she pulled over to investigate, a man leapt into her car and strangled her.  It was awful.  Now, another woman comes into the book...she is our protagonist.  Are the two women connected in some way?

Chapter Two
Standing in the patch of sunlight, the blond giant smiled crookedly and Beth knew it was John.  She rushed forward to embrace him.  He was shirtless, wearing nothing but a pair of old cutoffs, his bronze skin glistening with water from the creek.  His hair was long, tied back in a ponytail with a knotted length of twine.  He was an eighteen-year-old demigod stumbling around the forest in search of his subjects.
He opened his arms at her approach.  “Beth.”

His voice was just as she remembered.

Okay, folks, that's all for this week.  Now skip on over to the wewriwa.com website and check out some AWESOME authors!  Until next week...cheers!

Afterthought: Don't cha just LOVE that cover?  Yum!

I didn't realize that the strangled woman wasn't our heroine. I was thinking that today you'd save her. You piqued my curiousity today.

Scary, Ann. He's looking for another victim and she's about to be one? Good six!

Hopefully Beth's encounter with John will go better than Mandy's encounter with mystery villain.
