Excerpt from the very beginning of my women's novel, due out Sept. 22. This is the working title, I'm sure it will soon change...
How Long Does it Take to Fall Out of Love?
We
were drinking iced tea at our favorite sidewalk café when the plastics plant
exploded.
One
moment Ronnie was checking my left hand to see if my wedding ring was still
there, and the next thing I knew she was crawling across the blistered sidewalk
in slow motion, reaching out for me. Ronnie and I have been friends since college. She and Carol were my dorm mates. The best friends I've ever had. But college was a long time ago.
This begins the tale of Liz and Quinn. The story is told in flashbacks as Liz struggles to find out if her husband, Quinn, has survived the explosion of the plastics plant where he works.

You certainly caught my attention. Nice job efficiently setting up your story while also establishing a relationship between the characters. It will be interesting to learn what happens next.
Hi Ann, I enjoyed your six, the narrative is unusual and somehow seems strangely detached. Really intriguing concept!
Sounds as if your story is starting off with a bang---literally! Love your descriptive writing, always puts me in the scene.
Oh, and your link on Twitter didn't work for me; I had to go through website.
Thank you...next week!
Hmmm, I'll have to look into that...
Thanks, Carmen. I will try to fix my twitter button.
