shook my head; I didn’t know how to
describe the awful feeling of sadness that had washed over me at the sight of
the school's tall, brick arch. “I don’t know,” I
whispered. “I didn’t see anything, but I
feel something.”
“You never finished telling me about your
dream," he said.
“There was a girl with long
white hair—wild white hair—and she was standing beneath an archway just like
that one. And she was
swishing back and forth like a little girl’s rag doll in the hands of a big
mean bully.”
